My Grandfather (Edward Wilfred Wilde) was stationed here and Married my Grandmother Sarah in Wexford (1908) and that's about as much as I know, although he was also stationed in Guernsey (Royal Guernsey Militia I think)in 1911 as my father was born there how do I find out any more about him and where he served?

Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums
I think you may have come to us from Forces War Records so reading this will tell you about our connection.
Background for those wanting to help
1911 RG14 Piece 34998
Channel Islands
Edward Wilde age 33 Married born Cunacloe, Wexford, Ireland
Military Unit Infantry - 2nd Bn The Royal Irish Regiment
Rank - Colour sgt
I think there is a service record dated 1897 for this man on Findmypast a pay per view site which is licensed to hold these records by The National Archives. You could ask your library if they have the free version or buy a few credits to see what they say. The record may not have much useful information though as earlier records tended not to have much info.

Thank you,Christina and also sorry for not thanking you before(not really sure how these boards work)thought I had thanked all the posters at the bottom of this thread. Any way my comment oh my goodness etc.was in response to message about my Grandfathers marriage certificate stating that His Father (also Edward)was a Sargeant Major in the U.S. Cavalry....can you imagine what a shock that was. Regards Terry
p.s. next stop Findmypast I think
