The best site appears to be:-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orders...dals_of_Poland
site shows medals and ribbons, from which I gleaned the following:-
VM, V kl = Virtuti Militari V Class (5363 awarded)
There are 5 classes of the award V being the lowest, class appears to be rank dependent or possibly requires being awarded lower class previously. Not clear in description.
4 x KW = Cross of Valor (Polish: Krzyż Walecznych) awarded four times.
ML = Medal Lotniczy (Air Force Medal for War 1939-45)
EDIT: I see you have beaten me on the research. note the explanation for V kl above.Last edited by macwil; 09-02-2018 at 12:17 PM. Reason: Add comment and highlight.

on further reading, it is definitely RANK dependent. If you click on Medal name on the wiki page you get a history of the medal, buried therein are descriptions of eligibilty for each class, these varied over time, depending on who was in charge at the time. It makes interesting reading.
