    Default Palestine terrorist campaign 1945-48

Does anybody have any info on this campaign? In particular, the Air Formation Signal Regiment involvement during the time of the King David Hotel Bombing in Jerusalem. My Father served as a Sgt at that time.

This is one of the "small wars" that does not appear to have much publicly available information. For instance the GSM rolls are not available. fMP has the military because they were transferred to TNA but not the RAF. The deaths of servicemen killed in the various attacks including the train bombings are not on the GRO searchable index. The national military museum skirts around the atrocities against British troops before the withdrawal in 1948. Non PC these days presumably. I have been trying to find a list of servicemen killed during the mandate for some time without success.

I am familiar with the site,Keith although in recent times I have had to refer to the "way back machine" to see it! More fuel for my paranoia.

As a follow-up to this discussion. The web site Britain's small wars is no longer functioning. This is probably not surprising as it was started and maintained by former National Servicemen who had taken part in many of the wars which for the most part were not accepted by the government of the day as qualifying as wars. Most of the material on the site was provided by men who had been there. The site was fortunately recorded by the way back machine on archive.org otherwise it would be gone. The site can be found at archive.org but not easily. For Facebook users there is a group which has a link to the archived pages. I might add that the pages, for whatever reason, are more detailed than the article on the NAM site.
