    Default HENRY ISAACS-ALICE CASHMORE

This new thread forms part of my ongoing research into the Isaacs, Crawcour, Cashmore, Simmonds, Solomon, Jacobs, Hart, Goldsmid and others relationships through marriages. Having spent the past 17 years researching these lines world wide I am already aware of many of the relationships. However, Michael Jolles in his 1998 publication Samuel Isaac, Saul Isaac and Nathaniel Isaacs included a family tree which provided data on the Isaacs/Crawcour/Solomon lines in particular which I was unaware of.
The focus of the thread on Henry Isaacs and his marriage to Alice Cashmore is to to unravel the relationships to my Crawcour line in particular.
Jolles included important data on the father of 3 brothers John, Lewis, Isaac Isaacs who was identified as Reb Samuel Isaacs of Poole- see #4 of the thread Lewis Isaacs-Catherine Solomon first started 18.12.2014 which I subsequently very recently added to.
John Isaacs -Jacob Aron b Samuel children connect to my Crawcour line through marriage- Rosa Isaacs m Henry Crawcour son of David Crawcour who died St Helier Jersey in 1882 my 4x great grandfather.
In addition, David's son Isaac Crawcour married Esther Cashmore and settled in Melbourne Australia. Esther was the sister of Michael Cashmore prominent in the Melbourne Jewish community.Michael Cashmore had married Elizabeth Solomon Sydney NSW 1840.
Samuel Crawcour 1816-1858 son of David Crawcour and brother of Isaac had married Leah Cashmore 1818-1874 sister of Michael and Esther.

As the data will show, the Isaacs/Cashmore relationship was further extended through the marriage of Henry Isaacs to Alice Cashmore.
Henry was the son of Isaac Isaacs ( I will post a separate thread on Isaac and his wife Catherine LYONS aka Katherine).
Isaac Isaacs is one of the 3 sons of Reb Samuel Isaacs of Poole and he settled in Chatham Kent.

The Argus (Melbourne) Wed 30 March 1859 recorded the marriage of Henry Isaacs to Alice Cashmore:
"On the 23inst by the Rev R M Myers, at the residence of the bride's father, 3 Victoria Parade, Henry Isaacs Esq Merchant, Castlemaine to Alice eldest daughter of Michael Cashmore Esq J P Melbourne

Henry is not listed in the 1841 Census with his father Isaac or his siblings ( I will post the census as part of a separate thread on Isaac Isaacs). However, he appears in the 1851 Census by which time both his parents were dead- his mother died 1839 and his father in 1850.

Cecil Roth -The Susser Archive. The Rise of Provincial Jewry.1950 Chatham Section referred to the Chatham Jewish Cemetery and the burial of Lewis Isaacs recorded as drowned in the Medway.

The Australia Electoral Rolls Castlemaine Victoria 1856 show a George and Henry Isaacs freeholders-land and tenement. They are likely to be the sons of Isaac. Sometime prior to 1881 Henry Isaacs had returned to the UK with Alice and 9 children:
