just started looking through newspapers. Henry Albert Sumner killed in action 16 August 1917. His siblings regularly post inmemoriam notices in following years.

Bath Chronicle of September 1917 describes Henry Albert as "eldest son of Mrs Beake of Stert", no mention of father.

Florence was born in Edmonton and Ethel and Harry both born Islington. Could be worth buying the birth certs

Bathbmd.org.uk has the record which I think took place in a register office as under the heading: Church / Register Office is states
Bath Register Office or Approved Premises
Does that mean it took place in a register office?

when you say "has the record" - which record do you mean ? a marriage between a Mr Sumner & Sarah Jane Tinker?

Approved premises means a non Anglican church. The registrar or his deputy would attend or perhaps an approved person. I don't know when APs began to do the task. I am an AP in the United Reformed Church. pwholt
