missed out 1871 Census George Fido widowed - Gardner b. 1817 with William G age 16 and Alfred age 14 both born Bristol.

Goodness me, I go to sleep and wake up to all these facts - and at a time when the season demands our time elsewhere. Thank you so much Sandyhall. Bit disappointed you are still discounting 4 marriages for George Fido (which made for better reading)! Hannah/Annie and the Smith character went to Aust in 1912 with GSF and AMM. Alice died in 1916 in Aust, and I can, of course, track family once in Aust. It is the UK history puzzling me, esp as I don't have a current Ancestry sub. Greatly appreciate the help.

looking at the list of Fido Children from the 1861 Census yes the mothers maiden name is Fry.

I had found only the one marriage for Fido to Fry that I gave you before.

Could this be a brother of George Fido's marriage and they are his children.

Oct 1865 Married Elizabeth Champion (nee Fry – Hannah’s sister) (1831-1866)
1872 Married Mary Griffiths (1842-1903)

would the Thomas Fide born 1846 on the 1861 census be the Thomas Pinker Fido born 1849 on the 1911 census ? TPF married Ellen Edmonds in 1868.

except Thomas Fide was born Henley, Somerset and Thomas Pinker Fido was born Bath.
