I have been looking for the death certificates for HENRY JOHN BRICE and his wife MARY ANN WOODHOUSE without success. I have a death year for Henry of 1857 and 1874 for Mary Ann however I've been unable to confirm either. I believe they were living in the region of Devon, England.
Henry and Mary Ann are my Great Great Grandparents. I'm in Australia and have hit a brick wall searching through the UK GRO Online Index. If anyone can help with information on either of these family members I would be most grateful.

hello Victoria
Do you have Henry and Mary in the 1841 and 1851 census? Do you have their birth dates, names of children. Anything that will help identify them.

Hi Christanel
Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes, I do have the 1851 census which shows 6 of their 9 children. I believe Henry and Mary had about 9 Children. The census shows them as being in Whimple, Devon, England Civil Parish of Woodbury.
Their children were:
Amelia B:13 June 1839
William B:1841
Henry B:1843
Mary Jane B:1845
George B:1848
John B:1849
Henry John 1850
William Douglas McPherson Born at Sea:8 May 1853 (my great grandfather) departed on a voyage from London to Cape of Good Hope Sth Africain 1852.
Edward John B:1854(Possibly born in Cape Town Sth Africa)
Hope this is of some help.
Best regards
Victoria

Hi I have been doing some looking around and wonder where you got the surname Woodhouse from for Mary Ann.
I can't see any births for Brice children mother's maiden name Woodhouse on the GRO index with now gives the mother's maiden name.
Amelia's birth
GRO Reference: 1839 Sept 1/4 in St Thomas Union Devon Vol 10 Page 197 Mother's maiden name Brice.
Birth registration
Mary Jane Brice
GRO Reference: 1845 Sept 1/4 in St Thomas Union Volume 10 Page 191 Mother's maiden name Brice
Did Mary Jane also marry a man with the same surname William Brice? They are in the 1881 census. Married 1871 Newton Abbot Devon.
FreeBMD marriage registration March 1/4 1839 Henry Brice (no middle initial) on same page Mary Ann Brice Registration district St Thomas Devon.

Thanks Christina
I found the name 'Mary Ann Woodhouse' as the mother of my great grandfather William's Australian Death Certificate from 1899. The DC lists William's brother Henry as the informant and my grandfather, 'Abraham George' is listed under 'issues'.
It states William's mother as Mary Ann Brice (Maiden Name:Woodhouse).
I can't seem to see anywhere that I can attach the DC for you to view but let me know if I've missed it.
