    Default CALLEN, Walter b c1882 Cornwall

    This man joined the Army in 1892 as WILLIAM CLARKE and so is "mis-filed" in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363):

    Walter CALLEN, declared age 20y 4m, born Bodmin, Cornwall. (The only Cornish birth I have found is Penzance, ...)
    Married FLORENCE CODRINGTON in Dalston, London, on 26 Dec 1912. Son WALTER ALBERT born 19 March 1914.

    The rest may - or may not! - be true (obviously he didn't have a brother Walter - perhaps he's a William?):
    Parents: Walter & Hannah; (addresses in Dalston & Stoke Newington)
    Younger Brothers: James, Walter, Percy & Albert.

    Served with the Northants Regt of Foot; Regt No 6753.
    His Military Service is confusing:
    Joined 18 Nov 1892;
    Extended his service to complete 8 years;
    Went into the Reserve in March 1911;
    Was Mobilized in August 1914;
    Re-engaged for 4 years on 18 November 1914 ... yet his record ends on 22 October 1914.
    Perhaps he continued under his correct name?
