I noticed too late that Your Family History issue 186 for Sept. 2017 had an article on researching theatrical ancestors. Does anyone have a copy who would be willing to send me relevant parts of that article, please? Am prepared to re-imburse postage and paper costs. Full back issue costs £4. pwholt

Not sure how far back your ancestors were but in 2011 I contacted the Stage Newspaper who were very helpful with info
for someone c1950s. Good luck!

Thank you to those who responded to my plea. I now have a copy of the article I wanted. My relative (grandmother's uncle) worked as a theatrical manager and other things from about 1901 to 1920, although he is on 1939 register as retired. He was a partner with F A Scudamore who had a connection with the mother of Michael Redgrave. I rather fear that the death of Scudamore in 1904 may have brought his blooming career to a wilt. pwholt
