    Default Ypres 1914 - 1916

My partner’s grandfather Henry Joseph Morgan number 5/4925 a Rifleman of the King’s Royal Rifle Corp, was discharges from the army on 3rd February 1916 due to having been shot in the throat at Ypres . I was told by the National Archives that 70% of WW1 Records were lost in the Blitz of WW2, but are there any records at all of Ypres?

Not specifically, but you could look for the War diaries of his regiment which would at least tell you what they were doing.

I have found him on the list of soldiers awarded a silver war badge (these were given to servicemen who were no longer fit to serve). 5/4925 Rfn Morgan, Henry Joseph KRR, given badge number 45,179. He had served from 27 Oct 1914- 3 Feb 1916, cause of discharge was wounds, with a code 392XV1KR, had served overseas.

There is a summary of the KRRC's activity at Ypres on the KRRC Association's page HERE.
