    This thread is a follow up to the Barnet Crawcour and Fanny Alexander thread and data on their children. The following data relates to Sara Crawcour 1831-1928 youngest daughter of Barnet and Fanny. Marriage-31.3.1868 at 407 St.Vincent Street Glasgow ..of Milton House, Gravesend Sara Crawcour youngest daughter of the late Barnet Crawcour of Norwich to Bernhard Barczinsky-The Jewish Victorian.Genealogical Information from the Jewish Newspapers 1861-70 transcribed and edited Doreen Berger, 2004 Publisher Robert Boyd.
    Bernhard Barczinsky was the brother of Samuel Barczinsky who had married a sister of Sara. Berger in her 1861-70 volume recorded that Samuel Barczinsk Milton House May Place "has satisfaction in informing his friends he has admitted into partnership his brother Bernhard Barcinsky, who for many years has assisted him in conducting the above establishment" 22.4.1864

    It has proved difficult to locate Bernhard post his marriage but he appears in a Patent Record with his brother Samuel and later brother in law Frederick Ashenbach- 21 Nov 1867 Bernhard and Samuel Barczinsky " For producing illusory exhibition boxes or casings...within the box are placed illustrations in various attitudes or positions ..." The patent was for an optical illusion involving figures or objects which appeared to move when viewed through slits on the box.
    US City Directories record Bernhard Barczinsky School 1832 Mt.Vernon Philadelphia Pennsylvania 1874. His brother in law Frederick Ashenbach was trading in the same year in Philadelphia as Ashenbach and Miller Druggists 400 n 3rd

    Sara was to move to Glasgow with some of her sisters and mother.

    See JewishGen Online Worldwide Burial Registry- Belgium-Bernard Barczinsky 1838-1882 age 44 4 Feb 1882 Plot B206 Diewig Brussels. There is a full inscription of the tombstone plus reference to Sarah Crawcour his wife.
