Hi all,
We have obtained my grandad’s war record and with it his casualty firm. I am going through it and deciphering all of the acronyms. One I can’t work out says: granted L of LRRA @ 3f(or possibly 3t) L.d this was in March 1942 Egypt
Secondly - he is listed as wounded in action 15/6/42 in Egypt. He was part of 211 battery 64th Medium regiment. They were in Egypt at this point. Can I find out a) in what battle this occurred and b) what his injuries were?
Thanks

Your best bet (assuming that he survived WW2) is probably to buy a copy of his records. You'll need a copy of his death certificate and 30 pounds.

LRRA = If a soldier went on leave for more than 3 days (72 hours) then he received the 'leave rate' of ration allowance as he was going to be away from his normal barracks. This was a payment designed to recompense him for not having rations available in his pay.
LRRA is for soldiers going away less than this -so a LOWER RATE of RATION ALLOWANCE.
@ 3f(or possibly 3t) L.d is unknown I am afraid.
