well having followed the good advice received previously about ordering a birth certificate, it has arrived.

Rosanna Hudson born 1 June 1853 to George & Maria (formerly Wilkinson), Terrace Lane, South Lynn, King's Lynn.

So that is the same date of birth as given for Rose Irving on the 1939 register, who, on the 1901 & 1911 censuses said she was born in King's Lynn. So I reckon Rosanna/Rose-Ann Hudson is the same person as Rosanna/Rose Irving, despite the fact I can't find a marriage to a Mr Irving.
