    Default Prestwich Asylum Admissions

I have found a short transcription of a document of a ancestor who was admitted to Prestwich Asylum in 1882. I have the admission date, patient number, discharge date but no details as to why he was there. I'm intrigued.

On the document it states that the record set is Prestwich Asylum Admissions 1851-1901 and I have an archive reference no.

Is there any way that I can request or view this information?

Although you don't say, I presume that you found the record on Findmypast.
If so, find the record again, but this time, instead of clicking on the name to read the record, scroll down the page where FMP kindly tell you lots about the way people were recorded. And at the very end it tells you where the relevant (original) record is held, and the details you need to access it.
