An 7 Sept 1880 birth, baptism 3 weeks later but note in margin under birth date says "received 19 October". Does anyone know what this means please?

Not 100% certain but think that the child was baptised at home, perhaps it was sickly, and then subsequently taken to the church and "received" there.

The child may have been baptised in another parish but was received into the parents parish. It wouldn't be important unless the child needed support in later life: you only got help from your own parish.
