    OK

I have found three birth regs surname Lincoln

Samuel Dec 1869 Loughborough 7a 117 mmn Haines

Arthur Sep 1872 Loughborough 7a 115 mmn Haines died Sep 1872

Clara Sep 1875 Loughborough 7a 129 mmn Buxton.

I can't see a death for Samuel but neither can I find him on any Census.

Clara was living with her maternal grandparents Henry and Sarah Buxton in 1881
    RG11/3148/F50/p13
1891 grandmother Sarah has died and she's with grandfather Henry
    RG12/2518/F35/p1

In 1894 she marries Phineas Thomas Sutton
1901 family still with grandfather Henry and Clara and Phineas have sons Ernest W age 6, Tom age 4 and Frank age 1
    RG13/2979/f36/p8
1901 Grandfather has presumably died and Phineas is now calling himself Thomas (same age, same occupation and same pob) and the family now also have Phyllis 7, Ethel 5 and Ivor 4

    Possible death for Clara

    Clara Sutton Dec 1936 Loughborough 7a 155 age 59

    Brilliant Emeltee, thank you.

So it looks like Ann had two sons - I have just looked on FS and it has Sam Lincoln dying on 6th December 1869, but as Sam not Samuel. Both boys did not survive then. Thank you for the information re Clara - she looks as if she was the only child of Emma then and the Buxton census connection helps to confirm that marriage in the absence of a marriage certificate.

Thank you Peter, I had not seen your post.

Again just looking at the snippet view on FMP newspapers I am pretty sure there is a death announcement for Sam died 1869.

Thanks Peter for finding the death - I looked for Samuel, didn't think of Sam.
