    Default WILFRED KENYON MATTHEWS RE

Evening all, I am trying to establish my grandfathers service number. Unfortunately this has been lost over the years between my immediate family. Clearly I have a few possibles on forces wars records but there isn't enough information to absolutely validate this (to make this more difficult my family cannot even agree on his activities throughout the war). I don't want to spend the world trying to figure this out but I am sending this CC1 to anyone who thinks they can help or advise me further. Happy Hunting.

    Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums
Are we talking WW1 or WW11?
If WW11 then his service record will still be with the MoD. I am on my phone at the moment so can't give you the link. Will do it later if no one else has.
If WW1 we can do a search if you give us name, date of birth and any other details you have.

    Back home now.
Having come to us from Forces War Records reading this will tell you a little about us and our connection to FWR.

This sticky explains about WW11 service records and give a link where you can download application forms.
