HENNIKER, Norman Christian c1896 Kent - WW1

I suspect that this man enlisted under the surname of CLARKE, and so is "mis-filed" in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363). (He is the only man to be born "Norman Christian" between 1890 & 1899, and the name HENNIKER does sound slightly Germanic ...). I may be wrong - it has been known to happen!

Norman Christian enlisted (as CLARKE) on 25 May 1915, claiming age 20y, born Margate. He served with the ASC (Regt No 100466) until discharge in 1919.

On the GRO index his mother's maiden name is Clarke but the only marriage I can see is a James Frederick Henniker to a Charlotte Barty Clarke 1896 Thanet.

Found your Norman on the 1911 census transcribed Noman C, living with his "mother" and sister, living at 82 Norfolk Road Margate.
Mother Mary J lodging house keeper Widow. Age 60 married 40 years. 3 children 1 died 2 living. Cant find them in 1901 yet but in 1891 living in Greenwich. Husband Edmond F Clarke. A Clerk born london. Amys birth is for MMN Wollf. Many times back then mothers took their childrens kids on as their own, because well i suppose she could have had a child at 46. Edmond died june 1899 in kent Bridge reg. dist. Thats all i can find for now.

Found James Frederick Henniker remarried to Clara Emma Holness in 1911. They married in 1908
married 3 years no children from marriage
Son Leslie Whiston Henniker b 1889 mother maiden name Clarke.

JFH married Charlotte in dec 1896
NCH born Mar 1897, maybe he wasnt JFHs kiddy.
Cant find what happened to Charlotte, but the Daughter was born in Malta. Cant find any of the Hennikers in GB 1901

On the 1911 there is also a daughter Ethel Mabel Henniker born 1903 in Malta. The birth is also on FMP(i have no sub) for a Malta birth
