We have a certificate stating a family relative, Lt F.W.Barker of the Royal Field Artillery:
"Was mentioned in a despatch from Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig dated ... 1919 ... for gallant and distinguished services in the Field. I have it in command from the King to record His Majesty's high appreciation of the services rendered."
Where may I find out more about any specific reasons why this certificate was issued.
