Apply for his death cert, which should tell you of his wounds.
My Gt.Uncle died from wounds, after being evacuated to Birkenhead Borough Hospital in 1916, from France. I bought his death cert.Too many bones, too much sorrow, but until I am dead, there's always tomorrow.

Hi Joe and welcome to the British-Genealogy forums
If you came to us from Forces War Records reading this will tell you a little about us and why you came to us.
The Long Long Trail site, here, has some interesting information about the RASC
You could also look on The National Archives site to see if they have the war diaries.
