It is nice to know that I am not alone in thinking that this wrong!

    Thanks guys.
Good one. And how very true. I'm sure UK Trading Standards would have a field day with a company who seem reluctant to put in writing exactly what you're paying for.

I have had no reply to my last two questions, so I agree that something is underhand about the whole Fold3 thing.
I have just asked why I need to make a phone call to upgrade, when I could do it online via the web site.

If I get a positive reply to that, I'll eat my shorts.

No if you scroll to the bottom of it you will see "comments are closed"

The interesting thing is that it is all USA subscribers complaining bitterly about having subscribed to .com and now being asked for more money - sounds familiar!

That's typical.....they can't handle any criticism. They'd rather close it, than reply to it.

That was dated 9 October 2013, so I expect the price has increased even if the offer is still valid.
And if you can join Fold3 for half-price if you have a world sub then why don't Ancestry tell you on their website?
I feel more and more that FMP are far fairer to their customers. e.g. if they have 'free access for everyone' days I know that people with a world sub get an extension on the renewal date.

Between Fold3, Ancestry, and FMP's flawed attempt to put Buckinghamshire records online, it's not been a very good time for family Historians. Either by being duped, or let down with anticipation.
