    Default MORGAN, Henry/Harry William b c1890 Smethwick

    Mis-filed in the CLA section of the WW1 Service Records (WO 363):

    This man served as HENRY MORGAN, but married as HARRY WILLIAM MORGAN.
    Home address: Old Street, London.

    Joined the East Surrey Regiment on 18 January 1901, declared age 20y 6m (born Smethwick, Birmingham). Served his 12 years until January 1913.

    Parents appear to be separated. Father HENRY lived in Bethnal Green, mother SARAH in Smethwick.

    He married Mary Jane EVANS in Smethwick in 1909.
    Son FRANK WILLIAM was born in December 1909, in Smethwick.

    I've found a couple of Harry/Henrys in the 1881, roughly right age, parents Henry & Sarah, none born in Birmingham...

    Indeed, there's only 2 kids b. B'ham with those parents - b. 1889 & 1891.
    No HM b. 1881 Smethwick in the 1891

    I have a feeling that he may be the Henry William registered Q2 1885 - Kings Norton (which covers Smethwick).
