Default Your details on the Internet?

I am not really one to share links but this one intrigued me and reinforced my mantra that if you don't want everyone to know then don't put it on the internet

    Very interesting

I am extremly wary about putting anything on the internet. There is one site where my name and the names of my deceased parents pop up with the added bonus of a birthdate and name for one of my children (born 1973) - I tried to contact them to ask them to remove the information regarding the living. It seemed I had to pay to join before I could do anything. I didn't bother.

It is lovely having all these records online for family history research but I sometimes feel conflicted when I see so much information about living family members in the records as we get access to more and more data sets.
