As a consequence, he is "mis-filed" in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363):

John STARCK, joined the Cheshire Regt (no. 7090) in February 1903, declared age 20y 3m, b Bow.
Next of kin: sister SARAH (BURGESS?) in Tottenham.
He married (Edmonton) in 1907 - Eliza Harriet EDEN.
Daughter Eliza Louisa Henrietta was born December 1907.

Taken prisoner in October 1914, he spent the war in Hameln. Repatriated & discharged in December 1918. Home address 1918 - Tottenham.
