    That would be J.K. COOPER. John Knight COOPER was the Registrar of BDMs and he did have a son named Charles H. COOPER so maybe he was around on the day and was acting as a witness.

    Thank you,I'm amazed at your knowing that, but it really helps, so maybe the other witness was someone who happened to be around too. but if the family were boatmen as a previous post suggests, then I think they had their own ways of going about these things, private ceremonies etc. and so formalizing the relationship was maybe not so important. Still you'd think a member of the family would have been about.

    George Roberts on his marriage (1913) and on the Register taken on 1 Sept 1939 states that his occupation is Coach Trimmer. This may be a skilled job therefore it is unlikely that he would follow another vocation .
