When things associated with computers stop working, it helps to know what you're using - Windows? Which version? Is it the same as when you last used the CDs? If yes, has anything else changed?
The other potential problem is that many CDs deteriorate with time. Most of mine are still working after 10 or more years, but a few in the little museum that I care for have stopped after only 5 years. The most stable, I'm told by a friend who works in CD and DVD patenting, are the DVDs that look gold rather than silver, but there's no predicting when they'll die (I now have all of mine backed up onto an external hard drive and a DVD).

On the bright side, I've managed to find the CDs for 2 other FTM sets of data, and they both loaded (after I started FTM).
