    Default James (Heath) O'Brien.

    Hi
    Name - James (Heath) O'Brien.
    Born - 1813.
    Where Born - Christchurch, Hampshire.
Relationship to me - Gt, gt, gt Uncle.

Although James Heath O'Brien was born 1813, I am unable to locate further detail...marriage?...death?
He appears to have just disappeared from any record. Is it possible he died young, joined the military (army/navy), was a convict?...

This maybe the only record I have - his baptism.

I have tried James O'Brien, without the name Heath.

    Thoughts please.
    Regards
    Richard

I know you have this, Richard, but just so others have a starting point:

OBRIAN* James Heath, baptised 21st March 1813, Christchurch, to Michael and Margarett (sic). *Note spelling.

This looks like the parents' marriage:

OBRIAN Michael m. HEATH Margaret 12th December 1802 at Christchurch.

Source: Hampshire Marriages - transcript only.

This is indeed the parents - I have info on most of the family - Except James Heath O'Brien' death or any other details about him....excluding his baptism - there appears to be nothing on him.

No luck so far in finding anything for James Heath OBRIAN/OBRIEN.

Here are all OBRIAN baptisms in Christchurch between 1800 and 1830. Other than James, can you confirm that any/all of them are your OBRIAN family? If so, have you been able to follow them forward via marriages, censuses, etc? Did the family stay in Christchurch? Did any of the family members move away? There are an awful lot of James OBRIANs so such information might help to pin down what happened to your James.

    1803 Ann 13th February to Michael & ? (born 2nd February)

1805 Ann 2nd October to Michael & Peggy (4 weeks old?)

1813 James Heath 21st March to Michael & Margarett

1817 Mary 1st October to Michael & Peggy

    1820 Thomas 5th March to Michael & Margaret (born 27th November 1819)

1822 Edward 4th September to Michael & Peggy

    Hi
Yes - all these are the same family. What has happened, the name O'Brien has been transcribed and/or written down as O'Brian...which I imagine was due to Michael O'Brien Irish brogue...Michael and Margaret had in total 7 children....I have information for all, except James Heath O'Brien/O'Brian. I only have his Baptism date...BUT I gather any information, for instance a an actual birth date or a death, maybe hard to come by, if people were born before 1837..

Have you discounted this one in the 1841 census of Odiham, Hampshire (HO107/395/15, folio 24, page 13) living at High Street:

James OBRIAN 25 Lab Born in county yes
    Maria do 25 no

I have searched for the baptism of any other James O'BRIAN/O'BRIEN born 1816 plus or minus 5 years in Hampshire and the only one I have come up with so far is your James Heath O'BRIAN, but I haven't done an in-depth search at all.

this cloud be him, bearing in mind an unmarried man in lodgings quite often the head of the household gives details many times inaccurate due to maybe not finding it all too important, or the lodger wasnt there very long, and the rent is the only interesting part of the deal. btw no james breens born in Christchurch that year or +-5
