Hi all
Anybody got advice on how to locate records on my dad who served in the military police in 1946 in Scotland northern Ireland and then Burma.
He was in the special investigations bureau 91 in singapore and Rangoon.

You will not find them in any online database.
You need to apply for them here..... https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records

Thanks for that. Really really helpful. Just found file of documents at mums house that have triggered interest. He was part of the investigation into the assassination of the pm aung san and cabinet in 1946 but never told me much of the story so i am playing catch up.

You will need a copy of his death certificate.
They can be pretty slow (it took 3 months for my Dad's papers to come. You could fill the time by researching the rest of the family history... that's what we specialize in.
