You would think a name like Lillycrapp would be easy to research, despite name variations, but I am going round in circles and I am wondering if I have come across some 'goings on'..
I have a William Henry Lillycrapp born in 1845 in Southampton and his parents were Thomas Lillycrapp born 1819 in Plymouth and Elizabeth Ann Baker born in 1817. Elizabeth was born in Titchfield Funtley (or Fontley) Iron Mill in Hampshire. The couple married in 1842 in South Stoneham Reg Dis - I do not have the marriage certificate only a newspaper announcement.
In 1851 Elizabeth is with her children in All Saints Southampton, says married but no Thomas.
So I went on a search for Thomas in 1851 and the only one I can find is living in St Luke's Middlesex on Radnor Street with a Sarah (wife) and ten year old son Thomas. Father Thomas is a leather case worker journeyman - not an occupation I recognise.
The original Thomas and Elizabeth are all together in Southampton in 1861 but I cannot trace the 'second family' (I only have family search) to discount them as anything to do with 'my' Thomas.
I cannot find the ten year old son in 1861 to see if he is with parents Thomas and Sarah to discount them. Nor can I find a marriage for a Thomas Lillycrapp to a Sarah prior to the birth of Thomas born 1841.
I am beginning to wonder if Thomas was a bigamist or at the very least had a second family.
If someone else could do a timeline or have a look I would be grateful.

Hi Devonmade, he did indeed die in 1862 and Elizabeth died in 1869.
Thank you, does it name any parents for the baptism?
I am wondering what he was up to circa 1851 and what happened to the 10 year old Thomas and wife Sarah? - If this is one and the same person

It looks like the Thomas with Thomas and Sarah in 1851 is registered with mmn Baker on GRO index. Thomas George Baker Lillycrap
Bridgewater Union Somerset Dec 1/4
Then there is this birth/baptism
Thomas Gate Linzee Lillycrap birth reg Dec 1/4 1843 Alverstoke
Baptised 15 Jan 1844 at Rowner, Hampshire
Father Thomas Lillycrap
Mother Elizabeth Ann
There is a death of a Thomas George Lillierap {on FreeBMD, Lillicrap on GRO} March 1/4 1855 Plymouth but he is only 3 years or 3 months. I can't see a birth 1851/52ish to match up with this death either!
