What were the names of Elizabeth's children? Sometimes, in fact often, children's names can be a clue as it was tradition with some couples to name the first born son after his paternal grandfather; second born son after maternal grandfather; first daughter after maternal grandmother; second daughter after paternal grandmother; not all couples followed tradition of course and if for example one of the couple lost a close relative around the time of birth of their child they would often honour their relative by using their name.

Elizabeth SPEED was bap 7 Apr 1782 in Heydon, the daughter of Richard SPEED and Sarah.

This is according to Family Search. You'll need the parish register for more details and to confirm.

Thank you so much Peter. I can't believe it as I did do a search before posting this morning and for the life of me I never found that entry on Family search.
    Kind regards, Kaye.
