I am the daughter in law of Peter Edward Crowe, son of the above person .
I would love to find out more about g/father in law and also anything from any body that may still know Peter.

Both of the above are no longer around but I have a family tree to try and fill for their respective families.

Just to get us started on this research here is the birth reg of Cyril Marconi Crowe on FreeBMD

Putting this information in to the GRO index it gives his mother's maiden name as Crowe.

I can't see a marriage for Marconi/Crowe on FreeBMS so did they marry overseas.


An interesting family There is a family tree on ancestry which gives Edward Crowe born 1829 father as Eyre Evans Crowe 1799 Hampshire Editor of The Daily News. Married a Margaret Archer born Ireland. Another son, Sir Joseph Archer Crowe CB, KCMG Born 20 Oct 1825 London died 1896 Gamburg-an-der-Tauber, Germany. Other siblings born various countries.

Hi, The National Archives web site have Cyril Marconi Crowe born 6th January 1894, three items re WW1, two can be downloaded for cost of £3.45 each. Just put his name into the Discovery search bar.

Several mentions in the Gazette Online. One 1917 Edinburgh Gazette for Conspicuous Gallantry. London Gazette 1918 mentions how he is a sucessful leader, distinguished for skill and bravery. Free to view and download.
