I think those two surviving sons, Albert and Herbert are on the 1911 census, also in the Oulton workhouse, with Herbert shortened to Herbie. Sorry I can't give reference numbers, I don't have subscriptions.

Herbert Archibald Vine lived to 1991.

Judging by various passenger lists and the Canadian census it seems John W Hobday was a manager for Barnado's Homes.
