If you have his medals, you must have his name and regimental number. I don't know what you mean by "medal record".

The research guide explains the approach.

If you give us his name and number, someone will have a look for you.

The Silver War Badge roll says he enlisted 20 Jan 1915 and discharged 18 Jan 1916 (wounds). The medal rolls show he was in the 2nd battalion.

The Medal Index card shows an address in Co Wicklow.

Have you searched the burnt records (WO363) and the pension records (WO364)?

You could also look at the battalion war diary

    A very warm welcome toBritgen.

FindMyPast has details (a single line entry) of his admission to hospital - including the injury. Terms/conditions preclude posting details.

The FMP record names the military hospital. Googling the military name/detail delivers its "peacetime" description and address - The Palace Hotel, 98 Boulevard Sainte Beuve, Boulogne sur mer. No longer exists but

If url. unsuccessful, google "images for boulevard sainte beuve boulanger sur mer" and search images for "Hôtel au Pavillion Imperial"

Edit - checked and url delivers! But the google search will be of interest
