Default Normans in Scotland before 1066

Did any of the Norman nobility settle peacefully and intermarry with Scots before 1066?

It seems unlikely, as there were very few Normans even in England before 1066, despite Edward the Confessor's having been in exile in Normandy before he became king. However, it's not impossible that a few Normans reached Scotland – but I would want to see some very hard evidence! Of course, there were Viking settlements in parts of Scotland, and the Normans were Vikings by ancestry.
