    Hello Kev,

    Welcome to British-Genealogy.

As our name implies we deal with family history, more than connecting people with old friends.

I think you might be better trying Forces Reunited. It would be amazing if you were able to find some other people who your father knew back then. Fingers crossed.

Hi Kev, Forces reunited would be pleased to 'put the shout out' as they are the largest ex forces community.

I'm guessing this is your father:

George Stanley Newton, LAC, RAF - captured in Java 8/3/42?

Please send him the very best wishes from British Genealogy, Forces War Records and Forces reunited.

If he contacts our support at FR when he joins they will be very pleased to grant him a FREE account, please say Tim said so!

    Hello Tim
I've logged back onto Forces Reunited as you suggested and have asked for free membership to all records as a good will gesture to my dad George. Mentioned your name so now it's wait and see time
Cheers to both yourself and Pamela.

Hi BB, please note I said FR -Forces reunited.
This is not FWR (Forces War Records) there are no records on the FR site which is a veterans reunion and forum website only.

I cannot grant free access to FWR I am afraid, but FR -no problem at all, I apologise if I didn't make this clear.

I thought a free membership of FR would help him possibly contact those he had served with.
