    Hi
I have moved this thread from the Introduce Yourself forum to the Military - Army forum as it is much more than an introduction, I have given it the title Richard Douglas boy soldier but if you want it moved elsewhere with a different title just let me know Richard.

the book I just referred to says that the 10th left Chatham for Cork on 28th May 1823 then proceeded to Fermoy. According to the service record for Serjeant Daniel Douglas of the 10th, service number 1002, he was born in Fermoy in 1824.

pages 65-66 of that book (available at archive.org) give details of movements in Corfu and Zante in the 1830's.
