    Default Annuitant ????

1851 census says Ann Bray of 73 Ting Tang is an annuitant, am I right in thinking this is some kind of annuity she receives. and could it be poor relief.

I have a few annuitants in my tree, usually widows of army or navy men living on a military pension.

An annuity is an annual sum payable for life or for a fixed period. It would not be poor law relief. Have you checked for probate records?
