RALPH JACOBS- MARY BENJAMIN

For my Jacobs cousins and our Jacobstree website data. This new thread adds new data on the location of Ralph Jacobs and his wife Mary and some of their children between 1855 and 1856. The data also refers specifically to Henry Jacobs son of Ralph and Mary. As a brief re-cap Ralph Jacobs b circa 1796 died 1866 was the son of Philip Jacobs b c 1771-1845 m unknown. Philip Jacobs was the son of David Jacobs aka Letson aka Lietzin and Jane last name unknown.
The 1851 British Census ( I will post later on details) shows the family at 10 Charles Street. However, the London Selected Poor Law Removal and Settlement Records 1698-1930 show:
Henry Jacobs Insane in workhouse admitted last Monday sent from Police Court Worship St. His parents Ralph and Mary Jacobs 31 St Johns Terrace Hackney Road- father Dealer in Glass. Poor Union or Parish Shoreditch. Friday November 9 1855

A further record shows in 1856 Ralph Jacobs 55 living at 31 St Johns Terrace Hackney Road wife Mary 42; Anna 27; Leah 24; Jane 18; Eliza 8; Jacob 11; son Henry lunatic at Hopton House.

The UK Lunacy Patient Admissions Records 1846-1912 record- Henry Jacobs admitted 12 November 1855 Hoxton House Middlesex.

The following census record may or may not refer to Mary Jacobs and her son Henry. Mary's husband was dead pre 1871 and Henry their son may not have spent his whole life in a lunatic asylum as lunacy records on various individuals indicate.
