    Default Rawstone Street

    Hi all,

I need to do a manual search on a family living on Rawstorne Street, Clerkenwell on the 1871 UK Census and going a little nuts trying to find it. Ive worked out its London - Clerkenwell - Goswell Street - but not sure which district.

If anyone has a useful resource to lead me to the right district I would be very grateful!

    Warmly,

    Rebecca

Hi Rebecca, Welcome to the Forum. 1960 street atlas shows Islington as the Borough. If you look for the junction of Goswell Road, City Road, St John Road, Pentonville Road and Islington High Street, then Rawstone Road is the third road along Goswell Road and St John Road.

In 1871 the reference is RG10 393/24/41, but from what I've seen the images are a bit rubbishy. The Parish is St James Clerkenwell, the Registration district is Holborn.
