Whilst writing up my grandfather's story I noticed that whoever had kept the "National School Admission Registers & Log-books" for Pembrokeshire had noted against some of the boys what had happened to them in the Great War - such as killed at Gallipoli, or prisoner of war since the battle of Gaza; since returned safely from Turkey.

In terms of the education record that was poorly recorded; just the dates started and left, but for those search for snippets about an ancestor's war record this might be a source. I did check another county and that does not have the same approach.

It is by no means a complete account of every boys experience of war, as it does not mention my grandfather's, and probably reflects simply the person's own knowledge.
