Exclamation Wattisham & Waterbeach - Bill Runagall - HELP

Hello. I would like to find records/any memories of my father in law's national service in the RAF. He recently passed away and we were hoping to scatter his ashes on an airfield but have been told we need proof of his service. He didn't have a career in the RAF but he has always remained an avid fan of all things RAF and during his last years suffering with dementia, he was always telling us about aeroplanes and missions!

I understand that he attended RAF Wattisham in 1950 at 18, he then moved to RAF Waterbeach and may have been posted for a while in Hameln, Germany. I believe he was a radio operator.

Any information would be gratefully received.

    Thanks

    Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums
If you came to us from Forces War records reading this will tell you a little about us

Service records after 1920 are still with the MoD so you will have to apply for them. Use this link for the application forms. You will need your father-in-laws death certificate and 30 pounds.
