Trying to find out about John Burke Irish. Sadly have no birth details. He was married in Dublin 1893 in Portobello Barracks. He was based in Boherbee Baracks, Tralee, Co. Kerry in 1897 when his 2nd son was born. And his third son was born in India around 1901 or 1902. I think he must have been with the Royal Munster Fusiliers but have no other information. He was dead by 1909. According to 1911 census. Again no info on where he died.
Was hoping to find a birth cert for the son born in India but not sure if those records were kept.

I see that the 2nd Bat Royal Munster Fusiliers were in Madras in 1885-87, and seem to have had 3 Privates (numbers 58, 122 and 1731) called John Burke. They're all listed on the same medals index page, so it doesn't seem likely that it's one guy that's getting renumbered... Don't assume that if you find one of them, he's your boy...
Anc have it indexed under "Burma" for reasons I'm sure that they understand, but the papers clearly say "Madras".
Do you have his actual marriage cert? Does it say how old he was? If he's one of the 3 in Madras, that implies that he was born before 1869 (assuming the army took them at 16 or older).
