    Hi colwyn,
Alternatively you can order the certificate from Lancs BMD using the reference you quoted in your post. Might cost a pound or so more than through the GRO.
The other alternative is to go to the Record Office/Archives which holds the PRs for St Simon's. Problem with that is that it's likely to cost more than just ordering the certificate. On the plus side, if children of the marriage were baptised/married at the same church/other churches in the vicinity then you can look for those records at the same time.

    Try Manchester Central Library https://www.manchester.gov.uk/centrallibrary

If your name suggest the place you live, a 90 min journey up the A55 / M56 straight into town unless you use the metro from Altrincham......to the library

Looks like someone ells went to the library for you? I found this on the Manchester & Salford Family History forum that you also requested on

Hi Marie Would be most grateful if you could look up a marriage record for me . For a John Coady and Margaret Prince at St Simons Salford in the Sept 1/4 1878 - Lancs BMD ref C27/14/131 .
Hopefully If we have the correct marriage the father will be John Prince a gardener.
A copy would be great, but the details will be just fine.
    Many thanks.

    Rely to request:
