    Now that is interesting.
His birth and christening have him as James Christopher Ayers, when he married Emily he seemed to aquire another name and was John James Christopher Ayers.
1881 census he is James C Ayers RG11; Piece: 3984; Folio: 101; Page: 41; Manchester
1891 he is Christopher Ayers. RG12; Piece: 3247; Folio: 116; Page: 15 Manchester
I haven't found him in 1901, but as they had another child in 1904 he must have been around somewhere, Emily is living with her mum and 2 daughters in 1901.

John Ayers is not with them.

1911 Nellie is still with her Gran, Mary Ann, and Frances Louisa is with her uncle.

    Haven't found Emily in 1911

Emily remarries in 1917 to John William Platt, now looking at John William Platt Army record it is noted:
Children: ( Emily and John were not married at the time, they married later that year.)

    Margaret Ayers..adopted daughter
Fred Platt Illegitamate son by Emily Ayers
Marion Platt Illegitamate daughter with Emily Ayers No ages for children.

I am asking if members could try and find births for these 3 children.
Only Margaret I can find is a Margaret E Ayers 1913 Chorlton..this is not the one as I have checked it already and found the baptism for this Margaret.
    Many Thanks. Val

Margaret was born in that quarter so perhaps she was there for her birth.
I only have a sub to Ancestry and those records I think are on FMP

Looks like he and Emily must have separated by this time as she had a son to William Platt in 1912...found a death that fits him in Lancashire in the 1950s.
