    Default Ernest SCAWN, c1882 Devonport - WW1

Mis-filed and mixed with a Clark's papers in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363):

Ernest SCAWN, joined the ASC at Devonport on 9 January 1902, declared age 19y. Was apprenticed for 4 years with Mr Brown at Millbrook until January 1899.

Possible (these papers are not clear to whom they belong): father Ernest, brother William (both of Devonport).

    Anc****y, CLA, pages 85086-85089 & (possibly) 85069-85071

If Mr Brown was a blacksmit, Ernest seems to be in the 1901 as Seawn, but the condition of the form is vile. Dad's a publican. They have his papers in the Pension Records section as Scawn. 18862, ASC presumably the same papers that you found?. Not the worlds most trouble-free soldier!
