Default Missing Marriage - or my error?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong ... Maybe someone can put me right?

As some of you know, I am indexing the men in WO 363 (WW1 Service Records). I try to check dates & spellings on freebmd.

This particular man, PERCY CLARK, is supposed to have married ADA CLARK at St Anns Church, Tottenham on 22 April 1916. I am always suspicious when the bride has the same surname, but this is on an official form:

Yet there does not appear to be a record of the marriage in the GRO Index.

    Can anyone solve this?

It is possible the person filling out the form made a mistake and recorded Ada's married name as her maiden name.

There is a marriage for a Percival Clark to an Ada Pickett June 1/4 1916 registration district Edmonton which includes Tottenham

No births 1894- 1896 for an Ada Pickell but there are 4 for an Ada Pickett. Three of them have middle names. This one doesn't - Ada Pickett Dec 1/4 1894 Islington vol 1b page 387

The original marriage certificate can be viewed on Ancestry - despite the transcription showing Pickell as her surname - there are clearly two crossed tees on the end of her signature.
