    Default SWB George Simpson Bandsman

    Hi
    I am trying to find records for my uncle who was a bandsman in the SWB post wars. George Simpson b1899 d 1954. he was stationed in Aden and India and he emigrated to Canada in 1930 where he joined a Canadian Army Unit. He came over I'm 1937/38 to play at the Coronation of the King. Does anyone have any information on his army records or of army bandsmen.

    First of all, welcome to the British Genealogy Forum.

    As you will see from the message HERE, the MOD still has post-WW1 records. Family members can still buy a copy of them - it's all in the message.

    The Pathe news films of the procession, including the bands, can be found on the BritishPathe website and on YouTube.
