My father was in the Royal Army Service Corp and was attached to Field Ambulance. I know he saw action in France. (Samuel Walter Hodgson M2/032329). I am trying to find out which Field Ambulance group he was attached to. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

His medal index card only says that he arrived in France on 16 Jan 1915. (BTW He's indexed as Samuel W Hodgson, searching on his whole middle name came up blank). His service record doesn't seem to have survived.

They did use his full name on his Service Medal and Award Roll record
Samuel Walter Hodgson
Rank - Private
Medal Awarded - British War Medal and Victory Medal
Regiment - Army Service Corps
Regiment number - M2/032329
Previous Unit - R.A.S.C. M2/032329 Private.
His medal index card shows he also received the 1915 Star.
I can't see a service record for him either so it probably was amongst the 60% plus that were destroyed in WW11 by bombing/fire.
You have access to his Medal Index Card Roll and Award and Medal Record?
There are WW1 diaries on The National Archives site but won't mention soldiers by name and as you don't have
the field ambulance group he was attached to a general over view would probably all you would get.
