Default I need help, don't know where to look next

    Hi
Think I am in right place, new to this site.
I am trying to trace a family member, who after 1942 seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth, and I dont know where else to look.
    Her name is/was Violetta Pilkington b. 2 January 1902.
Her father was Edward and her mother Florence.
She married a man named Alfred Simpson 24 Sept 1921, in Bradford, and they were divorced in 1942, I have the divorce papers.
They had 5 children during their marriage, all who are deceased now.
I have done many a search under her maiden name and married name, and even under the name, of the man named in the divorce papers.
    Any ideas please

Her marriage to Alfred Simpson is registered under Violet. So searching on either Violetta or Violet gives a greater number of choices.

If you search for marriages for a Violetta or a Violet Simpson +/- 10 years of 1950 there are a number of possibilities including one for a Violetta Simpson in 1947 in Westminster.

If she remarried she should have done so under her married name, so it is worth search through those marriages.

Is it possible that she emigrated? The divorce was in wartime so was the "correspondent" from overseas?

The 1939 register on findmypast has a Violetta SIMPSON born 1st January 1903, who appears to have remarried someone called HARRIS. There are other potentially interesting details in what seems to be a large household. Findmypast's T & C's restrict relaying all the details but Freda SIMPSON is mentioned!

The FMP transcript gives Violetta's status as 'single' but I'm pretty sure the original states 'D' for divorced!

A potential marriage in 1949 between Violet E SIMPSON and Albert R HARRIS in Wandsworth.

Thank you for the information, no the correspondent was from Bradford, all I can ascertain is that my father visited Eastleigh around 1942-43, to try and find her, he had varying reports, that she worked for Red Cross, but I have contacted them and they can't help with the names I supplied.
Also another tale he was told that she was killed in either a munitions accident or bombing, but he thought this was just told to him to stop him finding her, and I certainly haven't found any deaths for her.
Will take a look at the marriages. Thanks once again.

Thank you for your help, and the thread to the other information.
The other two people researching are relatives, and they are as stuck as me, on this one relative.
Thank you for the names shown in thread
