Hello Alma, thanks for looking. How about James Turner and a Sarah Brown who married in Burnley in Dec 1847? Is that anywhere near where James lived? In 1881 census for James & Sarah which I can look at on Ancestry for some reason, John is 18, Emma 16, Allen 12, George 9 and Martha 7? James aged 54 and Sarah 49. Appreciate your interest. Linda Hope it isn't raining too hard at your place.

I really doubt the Burnley marriage, Burnley is in a different county (Lancashire) both James and Sarah lived and were born in Yorkshire.
The 1881 census is free on both Ancestry and FMP. Have you tried using the 'family search' site, it's the best one if you don't have access to a subscription site.
No rain where I am
The two marriages I posted are the likely ones, problem is which one?Alma

just had stroke of luck & found website with Haigh & Turner, confirming your suspicions. Sarah 1831-1891/1901. parents John Haigh and Sally Moorhouse. Johns parents Jonathan & Mary. lists 1861. 71 1881, 1891 census. So very pleased. Thanks again

It's not helped by James changing his place of birth on different censuses! Fulstone is north of Hepworth (less than 3 miles) and Thurlstone is south east (less tan 6 miles). Sarah does seem consistent however with Hepworth.

This looks likely for the James married Hinchliffe - father's occ. matches that on marriage cert.
